My favorite book in 2021 was Preaching Difficult Texts of the Old Testament by Bryan Murawski. I’ll come back to that. The big news is the coming release of the follow up book Preaching and Teaching Difficult Texts of the New Testament by Bryan Murawski.
I have read an advance copy. It is outstanding. It’s even better than the first one. (What?!) I know. How could a book about the New Testament be better than one on the Old Testament, right? This is the rare moment where the unthinkable can happen.
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Bryan Murawski has agreed to join Carpenter’s Student for a live book club event!
I had a sit down with Bryan to introduce his new book. Please listen in to hear more about it.
The basic thesis of Bryan’s book is that since all of the New Testament is inspired we should teach all of it. Even the weird parts. Even the difficult parts.
The video above only gets at one chapter. The entire book is loaded down with helpful insights into the hardest parts of scripture and tips to teach and/or preach it. It has already been helping me. The book comes out next week. The time to pre-order a copy is right now.
